Before the summer fun begins, get your hands on a pair of the Air Jordan 13 Retro sneakers in an “Aurora Green” palette, featuring a white backdrop with Soar, Aurora Green and Digital Pink accents. Like the colorful girls’-exclusive Air Jordan 5 Retro “Easter” sneaker released last month, the “Aurora Green” Air Jordan 13 Retro also drops in toddler, preschool and grade school girls’ sizes. Find them beginning May 8.
The white full-grain leather upper blends with synthetic materials for a durable, easy-to-clean backdrop that supports the foot and offers a premium vibe. Multicolored embroidered circles on the upper provide a subtle definition, mimicking the colors of the confetti-patterned laces. Aurora Green gets the most play on this shoe as it swaths part of the Phylon midsole and the heel.
Created by Nike designer Tinker Hatfield back in 1996, the AJ 13 took inspiration from Michael Jordan’s cat-like moves (and his nickname) as he prowled the court. The paw-like rubber pods on the outsole are made not only for stealth, but they also give the wearer strong grip for on-court and off-court action and also provide stability for little ones still finding their footing. The classic herringbone outsole enhances that ground-hugging grip. Unlike the OG sneaker, this release swaps out the holographic “eyes” on the side for a stitched-on, multicolor insignia.
For comfort, the Air Jordan 13 Retro relies on trusted Jordan technologies. The Zoom Air units located at the heel and forefoot make for a responsive girls’ basketball sneaker that scores big points in the classroom, on the playground or on the court. Foot-stabilizing midfoot shank plates bolster the shoe’s go-anywhere support.
