It was during the ’97-98 season that Michael Jordan wore the Jordan 13—the same year he locked in his sixth NBA championship. Now—25 years later—we’re being graced with a brand-new colorway of this iconic kick.

The Jordan Retro 13 “French Blue” is a colorway we’ve seen on shoes like the Air Jordan 7 or 12, but this is the first time it’ll be appearing on the 13. It’s dropping on August 19 in men’s and kids’ sizes, giving you plenty of time to break it in before summer ends.

A splash of tumbled gray leather covers the toe, but it’s quickly covered up with a dimpled white leather overlay that covers the majority of the shoe. There’s no branding across the middle—creating a clean silhouette.

Underneath the white leather on both sides is a patch of French Blue suede—it sticks up more on the medial middle. This blue suede wraps around to the heel, where it rises to meet the white ankle collar. On the lateral heel, you’ll also see the iconic green holographic eye that shimmers with the Jumpman against a “23” background.

White laces strap up over a white tongue, which also features a red embroidered Jumpman. This almost gives the shoe a patriotic vibe—perhaps even saluting the French flag? Inside the shoe, a French Blue insole showcases a white Jumpman.

The sculpted midsole is a mix of French blue and white that looks slightly globular. Under that, the outsole is lined with gray but features white traction patterns, along with blue and black detailing and a red holographic Jumpman gem.

You certainly can’t go wrong throwing this MJ kick on with jeans and your favorite hoodie.
