The Jordan 3 Retro “Black/Fire Red/Metallic Gold” women’s shoe drops October 6 at Hibbett | City Gear.
Jordan Brand has been living it up with the retro releases lately, and it looks like they’re rolling ahead with another women’s exclusive colorway.
In lieu of the typical pink or pastel colorways women typically have to settle with, the Jordan 3 Retro “Black Gold” provides a much-needed change of palette. It invokes black, Fire Red, Metallic Gold and Cement Gray for a look that closely mimics the OG “Black Cement” colorway.
Black full-grain leather covers most of the upper with an eggshell finish. However, there are gray elephant print overlays at the toe and heel — a quintessential part of the original Tinker Hatfield design.
What will really grab your attention, however, is the metallic gold tongue and eyestays. This extravagant touch pops, especially when paired with red eyelets and black laces. The tongue branding features only a red Jumpman, keeping things simple and iconic.
Gray ankle padding blends well with the red of the insole and tongue backing. There’s also a stripe of ventilated gold along the top part of the heel. Beneath this is the classic oversized Jumpman in black, along with the word “Air.”
An off-white and black midsole isn’t flashy at all, which helps keep the rest of the over-the-top design grounded. However, there is the classic peek-a-boo Air unit at the heel so everyone will know you’re ready to go to new heights. Finally, the gray outsole features red Jordan branding as well as a red pivot circle on the forefoot.
This shoe has all the glitz and glam a footwear aficionado could ever want, so you’ll want the rest of your outfit to be pretty lowkey so it’s not overwhelming. Gray joggers or leggings help the kicks shine. Pair it with a black hoodie, and you’ll be business on top, party on your feet. Feel the glimmer of gold with the Jordan 3 Retro “Black Gold.” It’s a must-have for ladies tired of the boring pastels.
