The Nike LeBron 20 SE “Vivid Purple/Metallic Gold/Black” basketball shoe drops in grade school and preschool kids’ sizing October 7 at Hibbett | City Gear.
We’re just days away from the official release of the LeBron 20, which commemorates a big anniversary for the Lakers forward — his 20th year both in the NBA and partnered with Nike. The tagline of the shoe is “From the King to the next generation,” which implies LeBron James is thinking heavily about the players of tomorrow.
Perhaps that’s why he’s also dropping a kid’s exclusive colorway in the inaugural lineup. The Nike LeBron 20 in Vivid Purple is fit for a king, with purple and gold accents throughout. A purple knitted upper looks decked out for royalty as it wraps around the toe and heel. On the lateral middle, you’ll see a double-stacked Swoosh. The bottom layer is a multicolor purple pattern outlined in black embroidery. Then on top of this is the more dominant golden Swoosh. On the medial middle, you’ll see just the purple and gold graphic pattern Swoosh.
Since this is shoe XX, there is no shortage of special branding. You’ll see a golden “XX” lace dubrae strapped on top of the black laces. There’s also lilac “XX” embroidery on the black tongue (along with the King’s embossed signature). Another golden “XX” is on the black insole inside of a purple circle.
Other branding around the shoe is just as unique. On the back of the right tongue, there’s a pink patch that reads “Designed and Engineered to the Exact Specifications of the Next Generation.” On the left tongue, this tag includes LeBron’s starting year in the NBA — 2003.
There are additional colorful details on the shoe’s midsole. The front half is the same graphic pattern of dark purples, light purples and yellow we’ve seen on the Swooshes. But the back half brings something new—a bold purple color with black speckling. Underneath it all is a multidirectional gum rubber outsole to give you on-court traction.
Jason Petrie, lead designer, noted that the tongue tag motto was inspired by players like LeBron’s sons, Bryce and Bronny. So if you’re looking to gear up your kid with basketball kicks that can take them all the way, you’re in the right place. For these shoes in particular, they can pair them with their favorite basketball shorts and a LeBron jersey for the full effect.
It’s time to bow to the new royal court — your kids. Dress them in the LeBron 20 in Vivid Purple, and they’ll be ready to take the throne. Court is in session starting October 7, when you can snag these in grade school and preschool kids’ sizes online and at your local Hibbett | City Gear.
