When you add up the defining moments throughout your life, which three stand out? On June 20, the Jordan brand rolls out a sneaker in which three of its top colorways converge into one collectible package.
Get ready for the Air Jordan 5 Retro in the “Top 3” palette — a confluence of three OG Jordan colorways all rolled into one shoe. The impactful Fire Red, Black Metallic and Grape “Top 3” palette drops in toddler, preschool, grade school and men’s sizes.
The AJ 5’s Tinker Hatfield-conceived design gets the all-over black treatment punctuated with accents with which Jordan fans are familiar. The Fire Red midsole has a white-speckled shark-tooth-like appearance, while the shoe’s mesh-inlaid side cutouts come in clear. Shiny purple runs along the plush tongue and throat of the shoe and clear and black toggles lock in the laces.
The No. 23 that appears on the shoe’s sides gets a boost from its Fire Red color, which contrasts nicely against the black backdrop. Other colorful details come in the form of the aqua Jumpman insignia on the tongue, which mirrors the underside of the tongue and the oversized Jumpman visible beneath the transparent icy rubber outsole. Inside the shoe, you’ll also find a tag listing the “Top 3” colorways.
For a shoe this big on style, it also shines from the enduring technology contained within. Look for signature features like the heel’s visible Zoom Air unit, a resilient foam midsole, and a premium blend of coated nubuck and synthetic leather.
