Get ready to spice things up this fall by adding a bit of seasoning to your kids’ everyday wear. While cooking up seasonal wardrobes, reach for a bit of flavor for their footwear. Beginning September 23, the Air Jordan 8 Retro “Paprika” red, white and black sneaks will launch in kids’-exclusive sizing. Outfit your grade school, toddler and preschooler with the power of the Jumpman.
What makes this shoe release so special? It’s a sneaker the Jordan brand created as a sample for Jordan’s “Sky Jordan” line — a kids’-only collection. But this 1993 edition never ended up hitting shelves … until now.
A white leather base sets the stage for this Tinker Hatfield-designed shoe, complete with kid-sized perforations running along the quarter panels. A hefty black suede overlay adds depth and nuance, creating the famous cross-straps at the lacing system and a horizontally ribbed heel for added stability.
The straps also come with the No. 23 embroidered in white, along with white clasps and black Velcro to keep your kid’s foot buckled down. The Jordan logo on the tongue is actually the Sky Jordan insignia, with a white Jumpman and golden design, symbolizing to kids of all ages that the sky isn’t, in fact, the limit.
Paprika red flavors the ensemble by outlining the midsole, sockliner and inner padding. Black zig-zag patterns along the shoe’s sides pack a punch, mimicking the underlay of the shoe’s rubber outsole. At once soft and flexible, this kids’ Paprika edition lacks Air cushioning relying instead on a comfy foam sole. Mix it up in your kids’ closet with this savory edition from the Jordan brand.
