The Jordan Luka 1 “White/Metallic Silver/Neon Turquoise” basketball shoe drops in men’s, grade school, preschool and toddler sizes October 7 at Hibbett | City Gear.
Slovenian basketball superstar Luka Dončić is tearing up the court for the Dallas Mavericks, and Jordan Brand has noticed. The 6’7″ point guard is on the cusp of releasing his first signature shoe, and we have the deets on one of the very first colorways.
The Jordan Luka 1 in Neo Turquoise, Metallic silver and white is a tribute to Doncic’s time with Real Madrid of EuroLeague. The turquoise hue is nearly an exact match to the uniform Doncic wore in the 2017-2018 season.
An all-white upper features a combination of Flightwire and mesh for an ultra-lightweight yet durable finish. You’ll see the squiggly Flightwire frame cable on the lateral side of the shoe — the medial side is all mesh and features a tiny “Jordan Brand Basketball” in turquoise beneath the white eyestays.
Attached to those white eyestays are white laces. However, there are two splashes of color here: a small turquoise Jumpman at the top of the lace box, and Doncic’s new logo in silver embroidery on the tongue. The logo is inspired by the Mobius strip and was carefully crafted to mimic his initials as well as his number (77). There’s also a hidden “S” in the negative space, which Doncic says represents his homeland Slovenia.
This symbol appears again on the turquoise insole. Also of note is the turquoise tongue tab and IsoPlate patches on the lateral midsole. The rest of the midsole is white and features Formula23 foam to make your journeys down the court that much smoother. The outsole is a bit of a shock. It turns things upside down with a bright orange hue covered with a translucent coating. There are also patches of white and turquoise to help balance it out.
As far as we can tell, this shoe looks more than fit for your in-game action. Pair it with your favorite sport-ready gear, including solid basketball shorts, a breathable tee and a sweat-wicking pair of crew socks so you can dominate both the court fashion and the scoreboard. Though he hasn’t won an NBA championship yet, Doncic is on the path to big things, and this shoe confirms it. You can grab the Jordan Luka 1 in Neo Turquoise, Metallic silver and white in men’s, grade school, preschool and toddler sizes starting October 7, online and at your local Hibbett | City Gear.
