If you haven’t had a chance to cop a pair of Jordan MA2 casual sneakers yet (which just dropped in February), now is your chance. The modern Jordan lifestyle shoe is coming to stores and virtual shelves in a colorway that might look familiar.
Colorblocked predominantly in white, accented by shiny black patent material, the White/Black Jordan MA2 looks a lot like the coveted Air Jordan 11 “Concord” colorway that MJ debuted during a semifinal playoff game between the Chicago Bulls and the Orlando Magic in 1995. While it may be a copycat, the sleek duo-chromatic style looks just as flashy as it does on the OG Jordan silhouette. See it and shop it for yourself on June 11 when this shoe drops in men’s sizes.
You’ll notice that the upper is a mix of white canvas, mesh and leather patches, highlighted by a panel of shiny black that runs above the midsole and heel. Branding appears along the side and tongue, though not what you’d expect to see on a traditional Jordan Brand shoe. There’s a single tiny Jumpman logo on the right tongue, plus the words “Inspired by Greatness, Designed for Flight” and the number “23.” The left tongue has the Nike Air logo in place of Jordan signature branding.
Don’t let the lack of Jumpman scare you, though — you’ll find the logo you know and love on the top of the side ankle tab and on the outsole. That tab also details the technical specs of the shoe, including tidbits like “20PSI” and “Air Bag 200.”
Naturally, you’ll see a Max Air 200 unit poking through the heel, an element borrowed from the Jordan Max 200 that inspired the MA2. Beneath that is a milky blue-toned outsole marked by multidirectional grooves for max traction.
In addition to its futuristic aesthetic, the Jordan MA2 offers a departure from other Jordan in that it’s not intended to be a basketball shoe for on-court dominance. Rather, it’s a lifestyle shoe that lets you express yourself to the fullest.
Sure, the GOAT ruled the court during his heyday. But now that he’s retired, it makes sense that his brand is dropping more lifestyle releases. After all, MJ’s got to stay cool off the court as well. Grab your black and white version of the Jordan MA2 in men’s sizes starting June 11 online or at your local Hibbett | City Gear.
