In 2014, Nike released their Foamposite Pro basketball sneaker in an electrifying “Volt” colorway featuring a neon green all-over color palette with black accents. To say the sneaker stood out on the court is a bit of an understatement.
Make your own statement in the streets or on the hardcourt in 2021 with the retro-inspired Nike Air Foamposite and Little Posite Pro “Black/Volt” performance shoe, launching in men’s, toddler, preschool and grade school kid’s sizes on March 17 at Hibbett | City Gear.
While the original “Volt” rendition may have hit the market less than a decade ago, Nike sneaker architect Eric Avar first created the Foamposite sneaker in 1997. He took design cues from the delicate shape of a beetle and sculpted the shoe’s shell out of foam. Penny Hardaway became an instant admirer of the design, and the shoe is now forever linked to the NBA icon.
This black and Volt 2021 edition of the Little Posite Pro and adult-sized Foamposite features a Volt-colored, molded Foamposite upper with subtle wave-like grooves texturizing the upper and a 3D Swoosh. The foam softens and conforms to the foot over time, offering lightweight stability. Volt-green leather runs along the lacing system and gives way to the green mesh tongue.
A soft Phylon midsole yields springy energy return, perfect for a day of playing or all-day slaying. The Nike sneaker’s midfoot carbon fiber plate is checkered in a black and Volt pattern offering a jarring departure from the otherwise green silhouette, and black striping runs along the shoe’s throat and the heel and tongue tabs. A medium-sized black Swoosh adorns the heel.
A full-length, translucent Volt-toned rubber outsole with a strategically placed traction pattern offers plenty of control, and an oversized black Swoosh provides the final touch of design on the bottom of this shoe.
