To celebrate 30 years of the Air Max 90, Nike is focusing on the evolution of transportation. Look out for the newest Nike Air Max 2090 colorway arriving at Hibbett | City Gear March 28.
The women’s Nike Air Max 2090 in a “Lava Glow” colorway comes dressed in variations of Lava Glow pink with hints of black and Flash Crimson. Layers of opaque salmon-toned materials create the upper, giving way to stitched-on, soft-rose-colored mudguards.
The recently released Air Max 2090 plays upon the heritage of the iconic Air Max 90 sneaker and remixes it into a more futuristic lifestyle sneaker, with features that imagine the future of transportation. The bubble Air-Sole unit in the heel, for instance, mimics the feel of tail lights, and the entire package gets a distinctive aerodynamic feel.
For the women’s “Lava Glow” edition, the shoe blends textile and synthetic layers to create a structured yet breathable upper. Like its predecessor, the Air Max 2090 retains the Air Max 90’s heel logo, cropped Swoosh and mudguard style. A zig-zag-stitched pink translucent layer outlines the shoe’s speed lacing system, giving way to a padded, breathable-mesh throat and tongue overlaid with lighter pink laces. The uniquely designed black branding on the tongue gives more breathability and drives home the futuristic aesthetic of the sneaker.
The Air Max 2090 also takes the notion of underfoot Air and bolsters it with even more Air for a soft ride. A glittery ribbed, translucent rubber cassette frames out the Air unit, offering a bold look, while the shoe’s midsole is soft and springy for all-day wear. The transparent rubber outsole plays off the Air Max 90s renowned waffle traction pattern and goes deeper with large flex grooves for even more traction and durability.
