Nike is commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 90 with the release of the Air Max 2090.

On March 26, celebrate Air Max Day by picking up the Nike Air Max 2090 in men’s sizes, a worthy blue-and-white addition befitting of the Air Max title.

While the Air Max 90 still reigns supreme, Nike designers have created an amped-up version of the beloved sneaker. The Air Max 2090 plays upon the heritage of the OG sneaker and propels it into a new era.

First up, the Air unit. The 2090 gets 200% more visibility in the Air unit than the Air Max 90. The silver cassette framing (original to the 90) around the Air-Sole unit gives the shoe an aerodynamic feel reminiscent of a Jetson’s-style spacecraft.

While the Air Max 90 relies on a color-blocked aesthetic, the 2090 has a lighter touch, employing layers of opaque materials instead. The 2090 keeps the original mudguard, heel logo and a cropped Swoosh. And while the waffle outsole remains similar to the OG shoe, more distinct grooves further enhance flexibility on the sneaker.
