The Nike Air Max Flyknit Racer “Black/White” colorway drops in men’s and women’s sizes August 25 at Hibbett | City Gear.
For those times when you can’t decide on the perfect shoe, the Nike AM Flyknit Racer is here to help. It’s a combo of two iconic styles fit for the modern age. And good news—you’re getting a new colorway to choose from!
The Nike AM Flyknit Racer in black and white is truly the best of both worlds, combining the lightness of the 2012 Flyknit Racer with the supreme cushioning of the Air Max. It’s slated to drop on August 25 in men’s and women’s sizes — just in time for a little late-summer training.
Right away, you’ll notice this shoe’s signature mesh upper in tones of black and gray. This weaved surface is what helps keep the shoe so lightweight and breathable as you race for a PR. Across the middle, the mesh has a white Swoosh painted on to showcase your Nike style.
Black eyestays hold black laces in place above a black tongue. On that tongue, you’ll see typical Nike Flyknit branding, along with the Nike Pinwheel logo on the black insole—a nod to the shoe’s composition of recycled and sustainable materials. A solid black patch covers the heel, which also featured a black and white striped heel tab.
So far, the shoe is true to its original Flyknit design, but that changes at the midsole. A crisp white foam midsole cuts around the shoe, and at the heel, a black patch reveals the tell-tale Air cushioning. The see-through patch helps everyone know you’re pushing the boundaries when it comes to style and performance. Under all this is a clean black outsole that’ll give you traction on tracks or streets.
This is a pretty tame colorway compared to some of the more colorful Flyknits of the past, but that just means you can turn up the volume for the rest of your outfit. The black and white tones of this shoe would look good with a neon color, like bright green or orange. Or, you could just try them with your typical black joggers and a white T-shirt — it’s all up to you.The Nike AM Flyknit Racer in black and white is a welcome revival of these popular styles—and one that can take you to new heights with your training.
