The Nike Air More Uptempo in black, white and Cobalt Bliss has a larger-than-life attitude. The design beloved by Scottie Pippen is all bite and no chill, helping your little one show off their burgeoning swagger. It drops on February 17 in grade school kids’, preschool kids’ and toddler kids’ sizes.

It’s hard for a shoe to feel more ’90s than the Uptempo with its huge graffiti-style “AIR” branding across the entire upper. Giant white blocky letters cover both the lateral and medial sides of the shoe so that no one can miss it. These white leather overlays are stitched onto a backing piece of pale blue. Beneath all of this is a black suede upper with small ventilation holes throughout. Overall, the look is very zebra-esque.

There’s another white overlay over the toe with a black embroidered Nike Swoosh right at the top. This overlay doubles as an eyestay, holding the bottom of the laces in place. Moving up the vamp, you’ll see the black elastic laces are held in place with black toggles. They cover a black mesh tongue which is devoid of branding but features a lace pull tab at the top.

The heel of the shoe is covered with a white overlay. Embedded in the middle of this overlay is a silvery Swoosh with a metallic sheen. Above this, there is a small black suede patch with a heel tab. The midsole features the same zebra design, with black and white angled stripes. There’s a tiny white Swoosh on both sides of the heel. Beneath this base is a full-length Air-Sole unit that offers little feet just the right amount of cushioning.

The outsole is black and white, though it does feature a few pale blue details. There’s an oversized Swoosh covering the forefoot and midfoot, as well as a smaller Swoosh with Air branding at the heel.  These ’96 remakes are just what your kid needs to express their over-the-top style. Whacky and bright crew socks help the sneakers pop even more. Or, if you want the kicks to do all the talking, keep the rest of the outfit simple with black joggers and a neutral tee.
