What if we told you that shoes could help keep trash out of landfills and plastic out of oceans? Nike is taking materials that would typically end up in landfills and on beaches and turning them into exceptionally designed sneakers. It’s all just part of the brand’s commitment to move toward a zero-carbon, zero-waste future. Meet the Nike Air Vapormax 2020 Flyknit, a shoe that transforms manufacturing waste into stylish, comfortable footwear.
Beginning September 10, you can pick up a pair of Nike Air Vapormax 2020 Flyknit sneakers for the entire family. Look for grade school, women’s and men’s renditions in a variety of colors. The women’s sneakers come in both Summit White and a black and dark grey, while the men’s shoes come in Pure Platinum, Black/Dark Grey and Summit White colorways. The two grade school sneakers will be available in black and dark grey along with a Pure Platinum and black palette.
Whether you plan to use these shoes running or just casual wear, the sleek silhouette of these sneakers perfectly blends color, style and technology. Perhaps the most prominent feature upon glimpsing the Vapormax 2020 Flyknit is the Nike FlyEase technology. This laceless system gives the shoe a futuristic appearance, thanks to a rectangular “lockbox” at the throat that works in tandem with a heel pull cord for loosening and tightening the sneakers. The tongue tab serves as the release, while the heel pull helps lock in your foot.
A low cut socklike entry coupled with a padded tongue gives anyone the flexibility they need for easy wear throughout the day. Sport these kicks with or without socks — it’s your choice, and either is comfy. The upper’s Flyknit fabric weaves color throughout and provides a snug yet breathable fit.
The TPU is made from up to 75% recycled materials and features marbled patterns along the toe and the heel, adding another layer of patterning and bolstering the shoe’s overall durability and stability.
Then there’s the clear Vapormax unit that runs the shoe’s entire length. While the aesthetic is unreal, the comfort is similarly out of this world. Flip the shoe over to see the snakelike pattern that runs along the shoe’s underside. Strategically placed, colorful recycled rubber pieces contribute additional traction where it counts.
We’re all called to do our part for the earth. Nike’s mission of moving toward a zero-carbon, zero-waste future is just one way to help. This September 10, you can feel good about your contribution — and your style — with Nike’s latest, the Nike Air Vapormax 2020 Flyknit in a variety of sizes and colorways.
