Originally released in 1979, the latest Nike Daybreak-Type sneakers exude all the smooth, retro vibes of the decade with none of the dated looks.
On April 30, choose between two new Nike Daybreak-Type colorways. Offered in both a black, Menta, Summit White and Anthracite rendition and a Summit White, black and Light Orewood Brown, these men’s lifestyle sneakers turn on the charm.
Nike’s co-founder Bill Bowerman worked tirelessly to build better shoes. Nike designers turned to Bowerman’s early sneaker prototypes to create the Daybreak. A seamless combination of leather, nylon and plush suede comprises the upper, making for a luxurious-looking, perfectly stitched sneaker that honors the original Daybreak shoe. The streamlined silhouette pairs perfectly with everything from jeans to athletic shorts.
The rubber waffle outsole, a hallmark of Bowerman’s sneaker designs, provides ground-hugging grip and angles up at the heel and toe for a modern aesthetic. The front and backs of the shoe also get reinforced with plastic to boost durability and support, while a lightweight foam midsole offers all-day comfort. The low-cut sneaker also features classic Swoosh detailing and N354 stitching in the heel and tongue label.
Last year, Nike Sportswear introduced several new “concept-driven” labels. Shoes under the N. 354 label — which includes the Daybreak Type — get their starting point from Bowerman’s original archives, using his designs to spark inspiration and create footwear that builds upon the Nike heritage.
This April 30, whether you’re venturing out or staying in, show off your smoothest moves with the Nike Daybreak-Type sneakers in men’s sizes. Find the black, Menta, Summit White and Anthracite colorway and the Summit White, black and Light Orewood Brown version at Hibbett | City Gear.
