Being matchy-matchy is so lame. Why not have a little fun when it comes to your kicks? The new Nike Dunk Low “FREE .99” lets you do just that. Rather than stick with traditional matching colors and designs, it switches things up with mismatched hues on each foot. The result is a lifestyle sneaker that lets you express your true self.
While the “FREE .99” kicks come in a few new colors, we’re eyeing up one in particular. The black, Dark Chocolate, Copa and Pink Foam shoe drops on June 8 in men’s sizes.
This new colorway keeps the same original design Peter Moore envisioned back in 1985 but with a hefty dose of pastel fun. The perforated toe box, middle, tongue and laces are black on each shoe, but everything else is reminiscent of a bubblegum rainbow.
On the left shoe, there’s a light green toe cap, a pale yellow lace guard, a Pink Foam heel and a Copa ankle collar. Things are opposite on the right shoe, with a Copa toe cap, light green lace guard, pale yellow heel and Pink Foam ankle collar. These shades may sound random, but they’re inspired by the sodas, chips and candy you might find at your local bodega.
And that’s good because the Nike Dunk Lows are the perfect shoes to wear on your next street-side adventure. While they started life as a basketball shoe — named after the anniversary of the first slam dunk— they were quickly adopted by streetwear and skating enthusiasts as their go-to chill kicks.
A foam midsole underfoot gives you plenty of cushioning, whether you’re hanging with pals or practicing your kickflips at the skatepark. And the padded ankle collar gives you the support you need without compromising flexibility.
Life should be more like candy. Sweet and fun! These pastel-colored kicks can help you feel like you’re a kid in a candy store again. Lace-up the black, Dark Chocolate, Copa and Pink foam Nike Dunk Low “FREE .99” colorway in men’s sizes starting June 8 online or at Hibbett | City Gear.
