Every time we think LeBron James has hit a career-high, he adds another achievement to the list. Case in point, King James recorded 500 postseason points for the sixth time and helped the Lakers bring home their first NBA Championship in a decade this past week.
Celebrate the Lakers’ NBA Championship win with LeBron’s latest shoe: The Nike LeBron 18. This All-Star-worthy men’s, grade school, preschool and toddler kids’ sneaker drops October 23 in a fitting “Lakers” colorway of black, Metallic Gold and Court Purple.
LeBron is the driving force behind press-worthy plays and his most recent play in the sneakersphere propels his legacy ever forward. For this iteration of the LeBron 18 silhouette, Nike designer Jason Petrie zeroed in on power, force and incredible speed by combining an amalgamation of features from previous models.
A Max Air unit beneath the heel gets a boost from the full-length Zoom Air unit for a powerful cushioning combo that provides fine-tuned energy return to enhance on-court speed. The higher heel stack juxtaposes with the low-to-the-ground forefoot, symbolizing LeBron’s ascent into the upper echelons of the NBA.
The shoe also blends the Battleknit of the LeBron 15 with the Knitposite of the LeBron 17 — and transforms it into an upper with exceptionally lightweight breathability. The TPU and high-tenacity yarns composing the upper come in black with Court Purple woven throughout. Small Metallic Gold Swooshes appear on the toes, while a black cable system extends from the midsole to the laces for a foot-stabilizing feel. The shoe’s throat shows off a flash of silver, creating a pathway up to the non-pressured air pocket at the tongue.
A white textural foam midsole runs beneath the upper, giving way to the visible Air-Sole unit stacked into the heel. A generously sized, molded TPU heel counter is infused with the Court Purple hue, complete with hits of LeBron branding. The shoe’s generative outsole pattern has a white quilted appearance, featuring strategic diamonds of traction.
This fall, propel yourself (or your kids) forward with a basketball sneaker that can withstand high-pressure plays. Pick up a pair of the Nike LeBron 18 “Lakers” basketball sneakers on October 23, dropping in men’s, toddler, preschool and grade school sizes at Hibbett | City Gear.
