This year is all about purple for the Jumpman Brand, and part of the Jordan 2020 holiday lineup includes a Concord purple rendition that takes a bit of a darker turn.
Beginning October 23, sneakerheads and athletes can grab a pair of the fan-favorite Air Jordan 12 Retro in a sleek “Dark Concord” colorway. The shoe, available in men’s and grade school boys’ sizes, features a black base with impactful hits of gleaming Dark Concord.
Nike designer Tinker Hatfield masterminded the Air Jordan 12 using the rising sun Japanese flag and a Victorian-style, stacked-heel ladies’ shoe as his inspiration. The resulting sneaker silhouette was captivating and timeless, and the newest release is just as eye-catching with black upper stitching on smooth genuine suede and rays that emanate from a reptile-textured leather mudguard.
Sleek black laces criss-cross the shoe’s black throat, where the numbers “TWO 3” are embroidered in white thread. Metallic Concord eyestays toward the tongue add a hint of flash. They deftly play off the light-catching Dark Concord overlay at the forefoot and the stitched-on Jumpman insignia at the tongue. The Concord-colored Jordan heel tab adds hits of branding to the otherwise minimalist shoe and speaks to this legendary sneaker’s exceptional quality and durability.
The AJ 12 Retro also features a foam midsole with a carbon fiber shank plate for smoothness and stability. A full-length Air-Sole unit contributes to the lightweight cushioned comfort of the basketball sneaker. Aside from the No. 23 stamped in Concord and the silver Jumpman figure, the shoe’s rubber outsole comes in all black with strategically inset herringbone treads for maximum traction.
