Sneakers Release – PUMA RS-Fast “Color Block” Women’s Shoe

Jul 29, 2020

The PUMA RS-Fast “Color Block” women’s shoe is set to hit the shelves and streets on August 1. Call them what you like — throwbacks, vintage-inspired or heritage kicks — there’s a good reason these old-school running shoes have experienced a rebirth of cool. While the sneaker realm has seen countless innovations like tech apps, 3D printing and high-tech textiles, PUMA never goes out of style.

PUMA dipped into its ’80s retro vault for these women’s running shoes. The “Color Block” colorway is a vibrant, high-energy palette of white, black, pink, blue and neon green. When the original Running System — dubbed RS — first launched in 1986, it was revolutionary. Packed with lightweight and ultra-cushioned technology, the shoe’s primary goal was comfort paired with high-performance stability. Many of those elements are retained on the RS-Fast. A TPU insert stabilizes the midsole. Green, black and pink molding supports the rubber outsole, and an array of lines, herringbone, hatch and squares supply durable multidirectional grip and traction.

Whether you’re going for the street mod-pop trend or looking for a classic running shoe, this sneaker will lend a bold twist to your look. The uppers feature a mix of synthetic textiles, including mesh, molding and leather overlays paired with a bungee lacing system that includes loop-lock eyestays typical of basketball shoes. A synthetic leather toe tip in neutral grey reinforces a white vamp, while a neon green cage overlays the top of the sneakers and wraps to the eyestay panel. The pillowy mesh-covered tongue, outlined in blue, segues from pink to neon green. Pink pops just below the collar and along the midsole.

Black and blue overlays provide strategic stability on the side panels, and neon green powers the heel stabilizer. Molded white, pink and neon green details and textures accent the lightweight PU midsole. PUMA branding appears on the tongue, lateral side panel and the footbed.
