The Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago” is considered a must-have for most sneaker collectors. The newest version of this iconic shoe, the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Satin Snake,” releases August 6 with much anticipation. Dressed in a white, black and red colorway, these sweet new kicks are available in toddler, preschool and women’s sizes.

Introduced to great fanfare by Michael Jordan in 1985, the Jordan 1 has stood the test of time, offering decades of heritage style and premium comfort on and off the court. Retro versions released in 1994 and 2015, with the 2015 release returning the colorway to its original rendition.

This latest iteration takes the game to a whole new level with a striking new mix of textures and color arrangements. The uppers on the “Satin Snake” feature a combination of satin leather and faux snakeskin in white, black and red overlays. White leather highlights the vamp, mid panels and heel trim. Red wraps the toe tips, mudguard, eyestay panel, tongue and upper collar seam. The heel, collar and both medial and lateral Swooshes get the faux snakeskin texture treatment in black.

What hasn’t changed? Comfort, quality and durability. The AJ 1 High OG retains the original fashion-forward functionality of its predecessors. Aside from the Swooshes, perforated vamp and distinctive outsoles, the debossed ball-and-wings logo on the collar flap stands out as one of the AJ 1’s most identifiable vintage details.

While a white midsole and black rubber outsole ground the sneaker’s stylish look, other standout features include a high-cut upper and a sculpted heel – offering reinforced containment and formidable ankle support and protection. A toe box notch supplies improved fit, comfort and forefoot flexibility. The solid rubber cupsole encapsulates an Air-Sole unit for lightweight cushioning, matched by the outsole’s deep flex grooves and concentric-circular pattern. Both provide traction, as well as lightweight, responsive underfoot comfort.
