Twenty-three long years ago, Jordan Brand created its first women’s shoe, the Air Jordan Women’s OG. Released in 1998, it was a big step forward in the history of women’s sports—coinciding pretty closely with the start of the WNBA.

The model was dormant for a while but then revived in 2020. Now, female fans of Jordan Brand are slated to see a whole slew of colorways headed their way throughout 2021. One such release is the women’s Jordan OG “Coconut Milk” colorway that launches May 24.

Unlike previous iterations that tried to play up the girl factor, this particular Jordan colorway keeps things simple and poised. A suede Coconut Milk upper is overlaid with orange basketball leather bands outlined in black. You’ll notice a familiar dimpled pattern along the middle — pulled right from the Jordan 13. The white midsole gives way to a matching orange rubber outsole paired with more Coconut Milk in the sneaker’s herringbone traction pattern. Along the heel, insole and midsole is the standard Jumpman logo in black as a reminder to give it your all like the GOAT did.

Like any good Jordan shoe, the Jordan OG women’s shoe comes with an encapsulated Air unit in the heel to offer lightweight and long-lasting cushioning. Going up for that jump shot will be that much softer on the way down and more explosive on the way up.
