The Jordan Zion 1 “Cone/Black/Hyper Jade” shoe drops in men’s, grade school, preschool and toddler sizes February 10 at Hibbett | City Gear.
The new year is already well underway, and now’s not the time to lose momentum! If you want a boundary-breaking basketball shoe that’ll hype you up with frenetic colors and energetic style, look no farther than the latest Jordan Zion 1. Officially dropping in men’s and kids’ sizes, any age group can channel the same drive and power as New Orleans Pelicans power forward Zion Williamson.
A mesh upper comes coated in the shoe’s titular color along the toe. Anchored at the bottom of the lacing system, midfoot bands provide a locked-down feel. More tightly woven, angular black mesh speckled with orange reinforces the toe and the top of the midfoot.
The quarter-panel area of the Zion 1 gets a blue ballistic nylon treatment, encroached upon by the star of the show: a lava-lamp-esque pattern along the lacing system and oversized heel counter. The orange, red and blue amorphous shapes swirl against a Hyper Jade TPU backdrop, which provides stability at both the heel and the laces.
The sneaker’s padded throat takes on a bright orange neoprene, culminating in the Zion and Air Jordan tongue emblems. Black laces mirror a luxe, satiny black material that lines the inside of the shoe and pads the ankle.
Between upper and outsole, the full-length Air Strobel unit and generously sized midsole provide cloud-like comfort right underfoot, with a robust Zoom Air unit stacked beneath the forefoot for maximum energy return. A lighter, marbleized Hyper Jade rubber outsole extends higher along the shoe’s sides and features a multidirectional traction pattern for enhanced stop-and-start precision.
