The Jordan brand is getting their smallest fans ready for the court or classroom, with the latest iteration of the iconic Jordan Zoom ’92, hitting shelves on August 1. This sneaker is releasing in grade school boy’s sizes and little sneaker fans will want to snag a pair of this newest colorway.
The Jordan Zoom ’92, dressed in White, Obsidian, True Red and Metallic Silver, exudes pure sport, offering a dialed-in balance of throwback styling and über-tech performance. As fashionable as they are functional, the new version features white uppers as well as panels, stitching and trim-outs in red, black, silver and gold. The cushioned air-supplying perforated tongue (lined in red) transitions from white at the toe to black at the throat. The plush collar is swathed in silver, while the footbed and details at the heel add contrasting pops of red.
A patch of silver lamé snakes along each side of the vamp, re-enforcing the first two rows of the power lacing and adding a modern touch. Black patent leather panels and indented molded plastic wrap the heel.
Air Jordan branding appears across the silhouette — from the molded gold Jumpman emblem on the tongue and red Jumpman on the lateral sides to the red Zoom Air, Swoosh and Jumpman on the outsole. The iconic Swoosh appears in black on the lateral side, while a smaller white Swoosh, shrouded by mesh, sits on the medial side.
To improve the structural components of these coveted kids’ basketball shoes, designers borrowed a few elements from past shoes, like the Air Jordan 7, while building in modern upgrades. The Jordan Zoom ‘92 has a more open collar and a loop at the heel to make for easier on-and-off. The plush collar couples with a power-lacing system and a stretchy inner sleeve to supply form-fitting containment. Thanks to a rigid structural overlay along the outer toe combined with a reinforcement swatch at the top of each side of the lacing system, on the heel and the lateral sides, this shoe doubles down on durability and support.
The sculpted foam midsole and its reconfigured stack height pair with a Zoom Air unit under the forefoot to amplify cushioning. Grooves, running parallel to the forefoot Airbag on the rubber outsole, optimize flexibility and transition from heel to toe when precision is needed. The translucent outsole’s herringbone tread also wraps partially up the toe to improve traction and speed.
On August 1, get the Jordan Zoom ’92 in the “White/Obsidian” colorway in grade school kids’ sizes online or in-stores at Hibbett | City Gear.
