Sneakers Release – Nike Zoom Freak 1, Nike Kyrie 6 and Nike PG4 “White/Black/Pure Platinum”

Mar 13, 2020

On March 16, fans and sneakerheads will have access to the Nike Zoom Freak 1, Nike Kyrie 6 and Nike PG4 in pared-down black and white colorways. These cookies-and-creme-style sneakers take a more measured approach to their color palettes, thanks in part to a white base color enlivened with speckles and hits of black.

One of those sneakers is the Giannis Antetokounmpo Nike Zoom Freak 1 in a white and black colorway. This anything-but-basic basketball sneaker drops in grade school kids’ and men’s sizes.

To say the “Greek Freak’s” past few sneaker releases have been vibrant would be an understatement. The black and white colorway, however, proves this shoe is a real showstopper even without an eclectic color palette.

An embroidered black Swoosh stands out on the medial side against the white mesh backdrop of the shoe’s upper, with lacing bands visible just beneath the breathable overlay. The lateral side flaunts the oversized reverse Swoosh in an “Oreo” black, speckled with white. The effect gets reversed on the “cookies and cream” white midsole peppered with tiny black dots.

The black continues inside the shoe, at the top of the ankle and on the outsole. Signature “Greek Freak” details remain, including the white rose outsole traction pattern and Antetokounmpo’s on-the-tongue insignia.

While the Milwaukee Bucks’ star is still on the rise, so too is his sneaker line. A soft foam midsole, double-stacked Zoom Air heel and snug, stable fit allows players of all ages to create their legacy on the court.

Nike Kyrie 6 “Oreo” White/Black/Pure Platinum

Next is Kyrie Irving’s latest release with Nike in signature black and white. Modeled after Uncle Drew’s playing style these men’s basketball sneakers show up with the comfort and the energy return for any player to make their mark on the court.

Available in men’s sizes, the partially breathable knit upper comes dressed in a stark white, getting a stability assist by way of the white TPU midfoot strap speckled with black. The shoe’s back half features tumbled white leather, which lends a game-winning vibe of retro basketball sneakers. The white colorway extends to the laces, padded collar, midsole, sock liner and tongue.

Mr. Overtime’s hallmark all-seeing-eye logo cleverly plays out on the TPU strap and the oversized TPU heel counter. The heel area comes in black, mirroring the shoe’s side Swooshes, Kyrie logo on the tongue, black stitching that embellishes the lacing system and the shoe’s outsole.

The rubber meets the road on the Kyrie 6’s outsole, which includes multi-angled microtextures designed for any player to stop on a dime or weave in and out of traffic like Mr. 4th Quarter.

Nike Paul George 4 “Oreo” White/Black/Pure Platinum

Last but not least is the PG4 that also comes in a black, white and Pure Platinum colorway, in men’s sizes.

The sophisticated silhouette includes a lateral-side white shell composed of tightly-woven knit, while the medial side’s looser weave gets a partial black treatment, heightening the “Oreo” aesthetic of the sneaker. This yin-yang design is bisected by the zipper, which encases the lacing system and underlay. The zipped-up effect also serves to stabilize the foot while creating a clean, no-frills sneaker that performs exceptionally well on the court. PG4 branding hits appear in white on the upper, and the lateral side gets a design boost from a black and white, paint-splattered cutout, outlined in Pure Platinum.

Designed by Nike’s Tony Hardman, other signature features of the fourth Paul George sneaker include the full-length Nike Air Strobel system. The inlaid Air unit gets sandwiched into the white and speckled EVA midsole. The revolutionary underfoot technology achieves both lightweight comfort and stability.

A series of small concentric circles in Pure Platinum with black edges comprise the basketball sneaker’s outsole, offering a peek at the Air unit via a small window.
