Each episode of City Gear's Fresh Off The Block series, produced in partnership with Nike and Nice Kicks, takes viewers to a new city to explore the area's impact on the music scene, basketball, personal style, and the neighborhoods behind the city's heartbeat. Episode three takes viewers to an all-new city - St. Louis, MO - to meet musical artist Muhammed "Mvstermind" Austin for trip though city that's shaped his sound.
His music took off during his days as a college student in New Orleans. After selling his first CD there, he decided to use the $4,000 he'd saved for the next semester's tuition to instead buy a music studio.
From New Orleans, Mvstermind ventured to Atlanta for a time, until a car accident eventually brought him back to the banks of the Mississippi.
His music is a reflection of everything he loves and has come into his life with love. Those things, and everything in his past, has let him to be his city's hometown hero.
Dressed from Toe-to-Head in layers of orange and the latest kicks, this is how Mvstermind shows up Fresh Off The Block.
