The golden sheen of just-fried potatoes tucked into a red cardboard sleeve. Juicy patties draped with velvety cheese. Perfectly smooth vanilla ice cream swirled into a cone (when the ice cream machine works, of course). The golden arches are synonymous with flavor and a long legacy of quick-serve meals.

This July 3, the adidas Dame 6 gets its inspiration from McDonald’s sauce packets. Yes, you read that right — those tangy barbecue and sweet-and-sour offerings you select when you order your nuggets. Available in men’s sizes, the “Dame Sauce” basketball sneaker lets any player bring his unique flavor to the court.

Portland Trail Blazers’ point guard Damian Lillard teamed up with adidas and McD’s to cook up this latest colorway. That shouldn’t be any surprise to Dame Time fans, who have seen Lillard’s personality shine through in his sneaker releases, with dynamic palettes like the Stone Cold Steve Austin-inspired colorway.

Outfitted in a Semi Solar Slime, Solar Orange and Team Rave Green, this men’s sneaker is a standout anywhere you go, whether it’s the court or the McDonald’s drive-thru. Bright lime green dresses one side of the shoe, which features the iconic golden arches. Solar Orange swaths most of the other side, along with “SAUCE” prominently written on the shoe’s midsole. The green tongue tag includes the adidas insignia along with the “Dame Sauce” moniker.

And while these zesty shoes are all flash design-wise, they also contain some seriously cutting-edge hardware for performance-enhancing plays. The shoe’s orange medial side comprises loosely woven layers of mesh that give way to the partially webbed lacing system, which offers the wearer a snug, sock-like fit. Various woven textures incorporated throughout the upper get a structural boost from leather and synthetic overlays. The oversized heel spoiler brings together the greens and orange while adding protection to the back of the foot.

Energy-returning cushioned comfort comes by way of the sneaker’s white Lightstrike midsole and internal foam padding. The half-orange, half-green Supergrip Plus outsole amplifies the wearer’s stop-on-a-dime ability and gives the shoe plenty of durability in the process.
