“Monsters, Inc.” is a timeless Pixar and Disney classic. Released in 2001, it details the journey of two monsters — James P. “Sulley” Sullivan and Mike Wazowski — as they fight to get a human girl back to her world. Everything about the film is creative and fun, from the plot to all of the wacky characters you meet along the way.

That’s probably why the movie has inspired several shoe collabs throughout the years. adidas teamed up with Disney to release a Sulley-themed adidas Disney Monsters, Inc. ActivePlay shoe with distinctive blue and purple coloring. They also released a similar-looking colorway of Stan Smith shoes, complete with fuzzy upper and monster-printed insoles.

It’s no surprise that adidas is returning to the world of “Monsters, Inc.” to feature Mike Wazowski. After all, you can’t forget about everyone’s favorite, one-eyed scarer!

The lovable monster will be featured on the D.O.N. Issue #3. Donovan Mitchell’s third iteration from his signature line just hit stores in July, so this may be one of your first chances to snag the highly anticipated upgrade.

We haven’t been able to catch a glimpse of this specific colorway yet, but we do know a thing or two about the latest adidas D.O.N. Issue #3. It was inspired by Spida’s bold personality both on and off the court — especially his journey to greatness. His motto is Determination over Negativity, and that’s easy to follow with enhanced Lightstrike cushioning that will keep your little one comfortable all day long.

Since this shoe is all about following Mitchell’s route from the playground to stardom, “Monsters, Inc.” fits in perfectly. Considering he was born in 1996, chances are he was a big fan of the film as a kid and is ready to pay homage to it.

If the shoe is what we’re envisioning — a lime green representation of Mike — we think it will look great paired with your kid’s favorite basketball outfit, jeans or a comfy pair of joggers.
