The color blue has always had an influence on Air Jordan 3 releases. “True Blue” was one of the original four colorways released in 1988, and it’s been re-released over the years highly anticipated (highly collectible) Retros.

It’s no surprise Jordan is riding the blue wave once again, this time with the release of a “Racer Blue” AJ 3 iteration. The “Racer Blue” AJ 3 Retro, set to hit stores in toddler, preschool kids, grade school kids’ and men’s sizes starting July 10, mimics the design of the OG colorway but in a slightly brighter hue.

Your eye will likely be drawn straight to the Racer Blue accent above the midsole, which stands out against the tumbled white leather upper. That same blue wraps around the heel for a connected look. You’ll also find blue on the heel’s Jumpman logo, patches at the ankle, the tongue’s Jumpman branding, and the lace eyelets at the ankle and toward the toes.

Other than white and blue, there is also a perforated light grey along the eyestay and ankle collar. And who could forget the iconic elephant print that’s found on every Jordan 3 Retro? This unique pattern runs outside the toe box and heel and is made of a 3M reflective material that should shine under a light. The only elephant in the room will be how awesome your sense of style is.

While MJ wore this shoe on the court, just like its namesake, the AJ 3 Retro has since retired from the hardwood. Today, you’d be more likely to see them paired with some joggers and a T-shirt while chilling with friends. This colorway, in particular, gives off a cool, easy vibe that would look great with your casual threads. Since they’re primarily white, wear them with something blue to make those pops of color stand out.
