Girls don’t always get to see a ton of Jordan Retro releases come their way, so it’s big news that the brand is about to drop a special, WNBA-inspired colorway just for the kids!
The Air Jordan 5 “WNBA” features a combination of white, Pinksicle and Saftey Orange coloring and is launching in grade school, preschool and toddler girls’ sizes on July 1.
A mix of genuine and synthetic white leather covers the base of this shoe. The traditional mesh panel across the middle is also white, creating a bit of a monochromatic look. White laces held in place with white eyelets and a white tongue further this vibe.
Things are finally broken up with a bit of color at the top of the shoe. A bright orange lace toggle keeps little feet secured in place, while a hot pink Jumpman soars across this girls-only AJ 5 Retro’s tongue. Pink ankle padding melds well with pink tongue backing that includes a spot for your little one to write their name. The insole is bright orange and features a white Jumpman.
There are just a few additional spots of color here. A pink embroidered Jumpman leaps toward the basket on the heel, while the pink midsole features visible Air units at the heel. There are a few orange cutouts as well. The outsole is a transparent milky pink with patches of opaque orange at the midfoot and toe. Trapped in the forefoot inside of the outsole is a pink Jumpman.
All in all, this Jordan shoe looks crisp and clean, with just enough detailing to mark it as a feminine shoe. Your little girl will likely have better options for her on-court domination, but this shoe is a great fit for those casual, off-court days. She’d look super cute wearing these with matching pink leggings or basketball shorts. Or, for a more school-ready look, try a pair of ripped jeans with a pink T-shirt.
