In 2005, Nike released the Undefeated x Nike Dunk High, a sneaker so highly sought after and yet so frustratingly limited in its run that it remains a mythical grail for many sneakerheads.
While we’re sorry to say we can’t offer a pair of the Undefeated sneakers, we do have the next best thing. This fall, the Air Jordan brand rolls out a sneaker with a very similar aesthetic.
Launching September 4, Air Jordan 1 Retro High “Bio Hack” comes dressed in a vibrant black, Baroque Brown, Laser Orange and Racer Pink palette that just may quench the thirst of collectors. Snag a pair of these kicks in men’s and grade school kids’ sizes.
The OG AJ 1 was the sneaker that launched a thousand basketball shoes, thanks to Michael Jordan’s mystique (his playing skills didn’t hurt, either). These days, the sneakers retain that timeless flavor with a retro silhouette and the enduring technology that have kept these shoes a mainstay for sneakerheads of all ages.
The bright Laser Orange nylon tongue sets the tone for these shoes, complete with a zig-zag-stitched Nike Air tongue tag and vibrant laces. Perforations pepper the aqua leather toe box, adding a block of color and plenty of breathability. A velvety blue suede outlines the toe, while the middle of the shoe gets a black leather treatment, providing a dark backdrop for the silvery Swoosh. The Baroque Brown heel overlay comes in suede, further adding a richness that lends the shoe its eye-catching depth.
A lime-green midsole works in tandem with the more vivid colors to give the AJ 1 Retro High its otherworldly vibe — and its lightweight Air cushioning. Meanwhile, a black rubber cupsole grounds the shoe, providing both exceptional traction and grip, particularly at the concentric-circle pivot point.
This September 4, whether you’re practicing drills or in need of a new lifestyle sneaker, pick up a pair of the dressed-to-impress “Bio Hack” sneakers. Available in grade school kids’ and men’s sizes, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High will be available at Hibbett | City Gear, both in-stores and online.
