Sneakers Release – Jordan 1 Retro High OG Pro “Prototype” White/Total Orange Men’s Shoe Launching 9/10

Aug 27, 2021

While throwback colorways tend to reign supreme in the sneakersphere, the Jordan brand is keeping sneakerheads on their toes this fall with some departures from the ever-popular OG colors. This latest shoe takes its inspo from prototype designs, with prominent stitching along the Swoosh and deconstructed-style tones.

On September 10, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG drops in a “Prototype” colorway featuring white, Total Orange, black, tan, silver and a blend of bright and light blues. These lifestyle sneakers will be available in men’s sizes.

Smooth white leather provides the upper’s backdrop, dressing the perforated toebox and the shoe’s sides. Tan nubuck overlays trim out the toe and the eyestays, paving the way for the black throat and laces, which lead up to Total Orange Nike branding on the nylon tongue tag. A high-cut collar gets cuffed in royal blue with a Wings-stamped overlay in a lighter tone. Outlined in white stitches, the black Swoosh meets a stiff black heel piece, nicely tying in with the black rubber outsole and the lacing system.

In keeping with the prototype ethos of the design, pattern-like stitching appears at the bottom of the high-cut collar, and contrasting embroidery plays along the Jordan shoe’s back. Subtle, reflective details in metallic silver trim the toe and outline the heel piece for light-catching style in any scenario. Plush black interior padding and a white foam midsole give the wearer a luxe, comfortable feel for all-day wear, bolstered by an encapsulated Air-Sole unit in the heel.

Royal blue insoles take on the Total Orange Nike branding, an embroidered orange Swoosh appears at the bottom of the laces, and the Nike name lands in tonal all-black on the shoe’s rubber outsole.

When Peter Moore originally designed the Air Jordan 1 for an up-and-coming Chicago Bulls player, he created prototype after prototype before settling on the now-iconic silhouette.
