It’s a well-known fact that the Air Jordan 11 is Michael Jordan’s favorite model. He loved Tinker Hatfield’s 1995 design so much that he broke protocol and wore the shoe way earlier than Nike wanted him to. A true rebel on and off the court.
The first Jordan Retro version of this shoe appeared on the scene in 2000, and we’ve been graced with a variety of new colorways over the years. 2021 looks to be a big year for the AJ 11 Retro Low in particular, with a couple of new colorways hitting stores this spring.
One of those is the “Bright Citrus” colorway, which is just as vibrant and fresh as you might expect from a shoe named after a fruit. It drops on May 6 in toddler girls’, preschool girls’ and women’s sizes.
You might remember this color scheme from back in 2015, but it was only available in kids’ grade school sizes then. This is the first time adults can join in the orange-tinted fun.
At first glance, the bright white leather upper and midsole attract the eye. But just as quickly, you’ll be drawn to the magnetic orange outsole, which makes a statement whether you’re blazing down the court or chilling on the sidelines. There are also touches of orange on the tongue ribbon, insoles and iconic “23” and Jumpman branding on the heel, which pop in the otherwise monochromatic design.
Because of the low-top silhouette, this shoe offers a flexible feel for versatile movement. Both kids and adults will love the soft, cushioned full-length Air-Sole unit that provides just the right amount of spring in every step. And like the original model, this kick still features the iconic carbon-fiber shank plate along the medial side for midfoot support. On the outsole, rubber pods provide great traction on hardwood.
If the AJ 11 is one of the GOAT’s all-time favs, then they’re a must-have in your collection. In particular, this style will add just the zest you need to be more a-peeling.
