White and red is a classic color combo for Air Jordans. You’ve seen it in just about every model, so it should be no surprise that another remix of this palette will drop this summer.

The latest Jordan 12 Retro comes in a sleek and subtle “Twist” colorway featuring a white upper and University Red detailing. This shoe will be available in men’s sizes as well as grade school, preschool and toddler sizes starting July 24.

Right away, you’ll definitely see some similarities between this shoe and 2020’s AJ 1 “Metallic Pack.” Like that release, the AJ 12 has a crisp white tumbled leather upper with the traditional quilted side panels. Along the toe, the leather takes on a faux-lizard pattern that adds visual contrast to the stark surface.

All this white is what makes the metallic University Red really pop. It’s used sparingly—just on the eyelets and midsole patch reading “Jumpman”—but that’s all this shoe needs to make a statement.

There’s also a small amount of non-shiny red at the heel and outsole. The number “23” sits in its usual spot on the heel, along with a black and red heel tab featuring the Jumpman himself along with the word “Jordan.”

Underfoot, a red Jumpman leaps from the toe, while black traction pads at the forefoot and heel give you a grip wherever you go. On the white tongue, you’ll see the traditional Jordan branding in black. There also appears to be the word “Twos” on the tongue beneath the laces, which is perhaps a reference to how this shoe borrowed its lizard skin texture from the Jordan 2.

Whether you’re buying these for yourself or your little ones, you’re sure to look just as fly as you feel on the inside. The clean lines and subtle color combos make this a great shoe for everyday wear both on and off the court.
