If you’re still buzzing with summer energy, you’re going to love the latest Air Jordan 4 Retro.

Yellow and dark grey are the prominent notes in the new “Lightning” AJ 4 Retro. Men, grade school kids, preschool kids and toddlers can go big and bold with these basketball-inspired sneakers that drop August 28.

You may remember a very similar colorway from back in 2006 — this is actually the same one being re-released. The OG “Lightning” colorway was an online-exclusive release, so it’s nice to see a more inclusive drop just in time for the palette’s 15th anniversary.

A Tour Yellow nubuck upper looks as fresh as a flower, while a dark grey outsole and ankle strap detailing stand out. Black mesh also adds to the bumblebee effect under the laces and on the middle. Shiny black eyelets at the top and bottom of the laces keep your fit snug. This is a separate piece on the men’s and grade school kids’ shoes, but on the preschoolers’ and toddler’s shoes, it’s a shiny synthetic leather.

Also of note is the large tongue logo. The men’s and grade school kids’ shoes have a black patch featuring a white Jumpman with the word “Flight,” while the smaller kids’ shoes nix the patch and have a white embroidered Jumpman instead. All sizes proudly display another black Jumpman at the heel.

Don’t forget about the classic white midsole that looks clean with its peek-a-boo Air panel in the heel. The toddlers and preschoolers don’t have this detail, so keep that in mind if your little one wanted to show off the inside of their basketball shoes.

This shoe was a huge hit the first time around because of its vibrant color scheme, and it certainly looks like it will be a hit again. Rumor has it that the shoe was initially inspired by Jordan’s motorcycle team. Though today, you don’t have to be a biker or a baller to sport this kick. Pair it with your favorite basketball attire, a fresh set of joggers or even some jeans for a street-ready look.
