Each April in Jamaica, locals and visitors turn up en masse for the annual Carnival featuring mouth-watering delicacies, energetic bands, vibrant dressings and celebrations of island traditions. And while this year’s event is postponed, anyone can channel that same “joie de vivre” with the Jordan brand’s latest sneaker release.
Whether you’re oceanside or landlocked, on April 16, find the Air Jordan 4 Retros in a “Rasta” palette of white, University Red, yellow and Lucid Green mixed with standby Jordan details. The shoes will be available in women’s sizes.
With its tumbled white leather upper, smooth white mudguards and TPU accents, along with premium stitching, the retro sneaker deftly pays tribute to the AJ 4’s original “White Cement “colorway. In the “Rasta” version, speckled Cement Grey detailing plays along the midsole and embellishes the heel. Meanwhile, the shoe’s mesh netting gets the Rastafarian colors in an ombre effect, while bold black laces and eyestays stand out against the white upper. The outsole and sockliner are swathed in green and the shoe’s insole in yellow. The visible Air-Sole unit at the heel features glimpses of University Red.
Beyond the cheerful color palette, however, the shoe features serious cutting-edge technology. In addition to its visible unit, the sneaker contains a fully encapsulated Air bag in the forefoot, boosting overall comfort. A solid rubber outsole delivers unmatched traction, perfect for games on the court or pickup in the driveway. While the upper exudes all that famous AJ 4 style, the combo of leather, mesh and synthetic accents also delivers exceptional comfort and support.
Jamaica’s Carnival has been moved to October this year, but you can still get a taste of the island life with the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Rasta” release on April 16. Visit Hibbett | City Gear for a pair of these colorful women’s basketball sneakers today.
