On November 26, the “Metallic Silver” Air Jordan 6 Retro will drop in black and Metallic Silver. Cop these versatile kicks in toddler, preschool, grade school and men’s sizes. This sneaker launch draws inspo from previous AJ 6 Retro colorways, including the Defining Moments Pack, first released in 2006 and re-released in 2020.
The high cut “Metallic Silver” edition helps celebrate more than three decades of Air Jordan 6s, which were originally released during MJ’s 1990–1991 season. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the shoes took on a German sports-car-like silhouette by way of the oversized tongue and heel spoiler.
This particular AJ 6 Retro begins with a black nubuck upper and signature perforations adorning the shoe’s sides for maximum breathability. The black extends to the midsole and much of the outsole as well, giving this edition a crisp, modern spin with a luxe feel.
Metallic Silver accents the back portion of the midsole, highlighting the visible Air window, which is also framed out in an icy translucent rubber. An oversized silver Jumpman insignia sit atop the foot, and Jumpman-branded lace locks help secure the ankle.
The back spoiler includes a shiny Metallic Silver, for a flash of light wherever you walk. At the heel, the 23 comes in silver as well, with a tonal black Jumpman stitched just above. These shoes are as much about function as they are style. The padded tongue keeps the foot cradled in comfort for all-day wear. The sneaker includes Nike Air cushioning, a soft foam midsole and grippy rubber outsole, enhanced with the icy translucent treatment.
