This fall, the Jordan brand seeks to remind fearless women that you don’t need a partner to help you celebrate your strength, sass and status as a boss babe. On November 25, treat yourself (or your favorite independent woman) to the women’s-exclusive Air Jordan 6 Retro “Singles Day” themed sneaker.
Whether you’re dominating the game or changing the way the game is played, do it in style when you slip into a pair of show-stopping Jordan 6’s, draped in a modern black color palette featuring a tonal Chinese floral and basketball motif.
Accenting this women’s exclusive release is a sweater-like luxe red tapestry of color along the throat, which gives way to a shiny gold Jumpman charm. The colorway inspiration and theme comes from the Chinese Singles’ Day holiday when those who are unmarried treat themselves to gifts.
The Singles’ Day rendition is crafted from genuine leather and textile materials to create a durable yet stylish upper. Dark suede accents contribute to the sneaker’s luxe look. Alongside the unique mix of construction materials and design flourishes, elements of the original Air Jordan remain in place. Tinker Hatfield originally designed this Air Jordan iteration based on Michael Jordan’s car — a German sports car as fast as it was elegant.
This Retro AJ‘s resilient black foam midsole delivers impact protection and game-long/day-long comfort, while dual Nike Air units (including the visible Air framed out in navy along the heel) provide total cushioning from one end of the court to the other. The black rubber outsole adds a bit more of that sleek, sports-car vibe to this package while delivering traction off-road and on the court. The toggle lacing system rests above the red woven feature.
