The Jordan 7 Retro “Cardinal” colorway drops December 17 in men’s, grade school kids’, preschool kids’ and toddler kids’ sizes at Hibbett | City Gear.
It’s been 30 years since the Air Jordan 7 was originally released. To celebrate, Jordan Brand is re-releasing a favorite OG colorway of the Tinker Hatfield design on Dec. 17.
The Jordan 7 Retro “Cardinal” features a crisp white upper along with black, Cardinal Red and Chutney accents. While MJ didn’t wear it a ton during his second championship run, it still remains a fan favorite because of its clean-cut look.
The upper is all white tumbled leather with perforations across the middle and ankle. There are also smooth white leather overlays around the heel, eyestays and ankle. However, there are a few colorful accents throughout. There’s a golden Jumpman embroidered on the lateral ankle — featuring a high-top fit, of course. On the white tongue, you’ll notice black Air Jordan branding. The back of the tongue and the ankle padding are both a deep red.
Inside the shoe is a black insole with faded Nike and Nike Air logos — perhaps to mimic the vintage feel of these kicks. At the back of the shoe, you’ll see a golden heel tab along with a triangular black and red emblem featuring the number 23 in white.
The midsole is mostly all black, though there is a pointy red and white design on the heel. The outsole is the most colorful part of the shoe, with a black base and red, gold and white shapes throughout. A large yellow Jumpman soars on the heel.
Because this shoe is so neutral, you truly can wear it with whatever your heart desires. We recommend a pair of white-washed jeans with the hems rolled up to showcase the high fit of the AJ 7. Throw on your favorite early ’90s vintage tee, and you’ll be ready to go.
The last time we saw the Jordan 7 Retro “Cardinal” was in 2019, but that was a special 3M release. This is a true OG reissue, so it’s a must-have for any true fan. Make sure to grab yours in men’s, grade school kids’, preschool kids’ and toddler kids’ sizes on Dec. 17, online or at your local Hibbett | City Gear.If you do happen to miss out, the good news is that Jordan Brand is constantly dropping new styles!
