The Jordan Luka 1 “For the Love” sneaker drops in men’s, grade school kids’, preschool kids’ and toddler kids’ sizes December 19 at Hibbett | City Gear.
Despite months of delays, it looks like Jordan Brand is finally about to drop the latest colorway of Luka Doncic’s first signature shoe. And just in time, as the Slovenian superstar is tearing up the court for the Dallas Mavericks.
The Jordan Luka 1 in University Red is a fully monochromatic design that looks ready to burn up the court. The bright red shade isn’t a nod to the Mavs, Slovenia or the EuroLeague’s Real Madrid. However, it could be a nod to Luka’s moniker El Matador. The fiery red kick drops in full family sizing on December 19. That includes men’s, grade school kids’, preschool kids’ and toddler kids’ sizes.
Much like the flag of a bullfighter, the shoe is all red from top to bottom. That includes the embroidered Flight Wire that zig zags across the top of the upper like a braided cable that supports bridges. This helps keep you contained if you’re fighting bulls — or more likely, a 7′ center.
Full-length Formula 23 foam sits inside the midsole to cradle your foot on every shot. You’ll notice the midsole also has subtle messaging, such as a Jumpman on the lateral heel as well as a printed verse on the medial ankle.
There are other touches of branding throughout. For example, just below the red fabric eyestay on the medial side is a tag that reads “Jordan Brand Basketball.” Then, at the top of the lace box, you’ll also see a Jumpman tag.
The only splash of color other than red on this shoe comes on the tongue branding and insole. Gold embroidery is stitched into the ventilated tongue in the shape of Luka’s logo. You’ll see that same logo printed on the insole as well.
All-red shoes always bring about a certain fierceness to them, so that makes the Jordan Luka 1 perfect for your game-day action. Pair these basketball shoes with some breathable black basketball shorts and the jersey for your team, and you’ll be ready to dunk all day long.
