Sneakers Release – Jordan 8 Retro “Arctic Punch” Girls’ Shoe Drops 5/27

Looking for an icy blast of cool before the summer heat sets in? The Jumpman brand has you covered with effortlessly chill styles and elevated colorways. Beginning May 27, meet the Air Jordan 8 Retro “Arctic Punch” dressed in Arctic Pink, Orange Pearl and white.

Fresh off the heels of the sorbet-colored “Ice Cream” Air Jordan 12, the AJ 8 Retro “Arctic Punch” lands in toddler, preschool and grade school girls’ sizes just in time for popsicles and pool parties.

This Jordan Retro, the Retro 8, makes appearances less often than other Jordan models, but when it does, this particular shoe hits all the right notes with its one-of-a-kind crossover straps and nostalgic 1990s design. Tinker Hatfield is the architect of these kicks, originally released during the ’92–’93 NBA season. Notably absent on these shoes: Nike branding — a testament to the standalone power of the Air Jordan franchise.

The “Arctic Punch” edition of the Air Jordan 8 Retro combines a blend of genuine and synthetic leathers with the artful arrangement of crossover straps — the top strap in Arctic Punch with an Orange Pearl strap beneath it. The balance of the upper and midsole comes dressed in crisp white, complete with breathable perforations sprinkling the shoe’s sides.

Peach-toned overlays compose the lacing system, blending with the silky sheen of the tongue and throat in the same shade. White laces rest beneath the midfoot straps, and both of these elements contribute to the snug feel of the package.

Kids of all ages can loosen and tighten the Velcro straps along the peach-toned lateral and medial sides of the shoe. The tongue’s Jumpman insignia also gets a punch of Arctic Pink with embroidered orange encircling the symbol, speaking to the globalization of the Jordan Brand.

The ’90s-esque overlays along each side of the shoe come streaked with Arctic Pink and Orange Pearl in a painterly fashion, while plush pink padding inside this high cut AJ 8 Retro gives plenty of ankle support to any Jumpman fan.

An orange heel tab helps even the smallest ones don and doff their shoes. Inner workings of the shoe include an encapsulated Air-Sole unit in the heel and soft foam midsole with lightweight cushioning. The traction pattern includes a series of inset circles cut into the Arctic Pink outsole with an orange rubber Jumpman at the forefoot and pattern along the arch.
