The Jordan Luka 1 “Black/University Red/Dark Grey” colorway drops in men’s, grade school, preschool and toddler sizes January 8 at Hibbett | City Gear.

It’s hard to deny the impact of the OG “Bred” colorway. Rumor is, when MJ first saw the iconic black and red combo on the AJ 1, he called it the devil’s colors. Since then, the iconic duo has been seen on nearly every iteration of the Jordan Brand.

Luka Doncic looks to continue that tradition with his signature line of basketball shoes. The Jordan Luka 1 “Bred” utilizes University Red and black with Dark Grey touches. It’s dropping on January 8 in men’s, grade school kids’, preschool kids’ and toddler kids’ sizes.

Rather than going big on red like most “Bred” colorways, this Luka 1 variant instead chooses black as the main color. In fact, you’ll notice an all-black upper with embroidered Flight Wire cables zig-zagging across the top. Not only do these look cool, but they also add support to keep your feet contained as you race down the court.

The tongue, laces, midsole and heel tab are also black. However, you’ll notice some red accents on the lateral midsole. There’s also a red insert on the heel that reads Formula 23 — a luxurious foam insert that offers supportive and responsive comfort even on the toughest jump shots.

Another red accent is the messaging on the black eyestays. On the medial side, this reads “Non Desistas Non Exieris,” which translates to “never give up, never surrender.” And on the medial side, you’ll see the simpler message “Jordan Brand Basketball.”

Luka’s logo — inspired by the Mobius strip — can be seen in red embroidery on the tongue. This logo repeats on the insole but in reverse, with a red background and black image. Underneath all of this is a solid black outsole. There’s one red insert at the midfoot, complete with a tiny black Jumpman.

Obviously, these kicks would be amazing for your on-court adventures. Lace them up with black basketball shorts and a red tee to take on the hardwood. Or after the game, they’d look great with tapered gray joggers and an oversized hoodie.
