The New Balance 574 “Conversations Amongst Us” unisex shoe drops August 11 at Hibbett | City Gear.

Celebrating Black voices is one way to connect and express, and that’s just what the Conversations Amongst Us collection looks to do. So far, this collection designed by Joe Freshgoods and an all-Black product team dubbed the Black Soles has dropped three unique styles. Now, it looks like we’re about to see a fourth.

The New Balance 574 “Conversations Amongst Us” sneaker is designed to look better the more you wear it. It ditches the standard all-white upper for a more lived-in yellow. You’ll be able to catch this unique style in men’s sizes starting August 11.

You don’t have to worry about scuffing the pale yellow leather upper, as the weathered color is meant to tell your personal story. The laces and tongue are also the same color, creating a monochromatic look. On the canvas tongue, you’ll see Classic 574 branding, but because it’s nearly the same hue as the tongue, it’s hard to see from a distance.

There are a few touches of other colors on the shoe. A bold silver “N” outlined in black sits in the middle on both sides of the shoe. There’s also unique Conversations Amongst Us branding on the heel in black. The left shoe reads “Conversations,” while the right shoe reads “Amongst Us.” 

On the back of the tongue and on the insole, you’ll see the same Conversations Amongst Us graphic featuring the blue and red outlines of people speaking. A tan outsole melds into a black outsole with oxidation marks.

This shoe is all about telling your story—and hearing the story of others. That means you should wear this however you feel most comfortable. Whether you pair it with your favorite jeans or matching Conversations Amongst Us apparel, you’ll be making a non-verbal statement about your experience in the Black community.
