Sneakers Release – New Balance x Jaden Smith Vision Racer “Natural” Grey Launching 4/22

While Jaden Smith used to be best known as Will Smith’s son, he’s now come into his own. He’s rocked the international stage as a musician, actor, activist and now, footwear collaborator.

Since joining as a New Balance brand ambassador in 2019, Jaden has released one signature shoe called the New Balance Vision Racer. Since its entrance into the sneakersphere, we’ve seen the Vison Racer in Black, Sunflower Yellow and White Pink colorways. This month, a new colorway is entering the mix.

The “Natural” New Balance Vision Racer features a speckled gray upper with plenty of flair. While the shoe drops on April 21 across the pond in Europe, you’ll be able to catch it a day later in the states, on April 22 in men’s sizes.

This shoe still has the same chunky sole the Vision Racer is known for, just with a new muted look. A recycled textile upper pays homage to the New Balance brand’s sustainability efforts with its speckled gray canvas overlays. You’ll notice telltale “N” branding on the side, as well as an “NB” on the heel, both in black.

What elevates this shoe to streetwear king is the three-part midsole. The thick, EVA Regrind midsole was Jaden’s way to keep the shoe playful. Underfoot, a vibrant message is waiting for the keen viewer on the transparent outsole — [DO YOU SEE IT YET?].

When creating the Vision Racer, Smith wanted to incorporate elements of his favorite heritage model, the New Balance 1700. You’ll catch design hits of that throughout, all meshing beautifully with Jaden’s own fashion-forward input.

Part of his goal was also to use repurposed materials. In addition to the recycled upper and midsole, you’ll find a partially recycled insole as well as recycled polyester throughout. Oh, and the shoe is even vegan-friendly — animals rejoice!

Overall, the New Balance Vision Racer in “Natural” is far from your dad’s traditional pair of men’s New Balance. This streetwear style staple you shouldn’t sleep on launches April 22 in men’s sizing online and at a Hibbett | City Gear near you.
