Sneakers Release – Nike Air Huarache “Black/White” Men’s & Kids’ Shoe Dropping 6/25

Jun 11, 2021

What do water skis, leather thong sandals and the NYC marathon have in common? They’re all a part of the Nike Huarache‘s sneaker history. Tinker Hatfield got his inspiration for the sneaker’s design from water skis; the shoe’s moniker came from the Mexican leather-thonged sandals (pronounced “wah-rah-chee,” by the way); and the running shoes were first tested in the NYC marathon.

The Nike Air Huarache is launching on June 25 in a “black/white” colorway, a color combo similar to the 2004 “Orca” release. This monochromatic pair of kicks will be available in toddler, preschool, grade school kids’ and men’s sizes.

Whether you wear them for running, or simply as a stylish lifestyle sneaker, you’re promised a comfortable ride in the Nike Air Huarache, designed confirm to your fit for a snug fit. Hatfield liked the secure, neoprene bootie fit of skis, so he created a low-cut collar and cushioned inner sleeve that perfectly conforms to any wearer’s ankle.

Breathable neoprene and a satiny fabric — both in black — compose the majority of the White/Black Huarache’s upper, while white leather overlays form structure along the forefoot. The oversized semi-transparent heel clip is big, bold and reminiscent of a classic 1990s sneaker style.

The tongue badge includes a black and white Air Huarache logo and lettering, leading down to the variable lacing system characterized by staggered eyestays for a completely customized fit. The white, plush foam midsole and Nike Air unit add to the sneaker’s comfort for plenty of springy energy return. The shoe’s bottom features a black waffle outsole with white cutouts.

Embrace the simple color palette, clean lines and throwback ’90s style of the latest release from the Nike Huarache line. Shop the black and white Huarache in toddler, preK, grade school and men’s sizes beginning June 25 in stores or online at Hibbett | City Gear.
