What happens when a woven mesh upper, a revolutionary full-length Air unit and a blend of recycled materials unite? You get the new Nike Air VaporMax 2020 Flyknit. And when you purchase a pair of these Nike shoes, you’re also putting your money towards a more sustainable future for the planet. Dropping August 24 in men’s, women’s and grade school kids’ sizes, the “Iron Grey” rendition of the Nike Air Vapormax 2020 Flyknit sneakers reflects the latest step in the brand’s commitment to zero carbon and zero waste.
Creating sustainably sourced sneakers is a cornerstone of Nike’s “Move to Zero” campaign. Composed of at least 50% recycled content by weight, this particular Nike shoe integrates recycled foam, TPU and polyester into a futuristic design.
And just because it’s constructed with manufacturing “leftovers” doesn’t mean this shoe should be overlooked. Quite the opposite. The Vapormax 2020 Flyknit is an example of sustainability done right.
Sometimes it’s a pain to take shoes on and off. That’s not the case with this shoe, which employs Nike’s FlyEase system. The laceless technology allows anyone to easily slip on their shoes before a run, thanks to key features like a flexible heel with the adjustability to achieve a custom fit. A foam tongue, low cut sock-like entry and TPU heel and toe clips all establish a comfortable, secure fit.
The Vapormax 2020 silhouette launched earlier this summer for the now-postponed Tokyo Olympics. The 2020 version is an amped-up approach to the Vapormax shoe, offering wearers even more lightweight responsiveness with each stride. The sneaker’s translucent outsole offers a reimagined traction pattern — a serpentine shape that snakes along the edges of the shoe for plenty of floor-gripping responsiveness.
From its grey Flyknit upper and FlyEase system to its Vapormax Air unit and icy outsole, this latest shoe is a game-changer. Find the Nike Air VaporMax 2020 “Iron Grey” shoe in men’s, women’s and grade school kids’ sizes in-stores or online at Hibbett | City Gear on August 24.
