The Nike Air Zoom G.T. Cut 2 and Nike Air Zoom G.T. Jump 2 “Avant-Garde” men’s basketball shoes drop March 17 at Hibbett | City Gear. Two of Nike’s best-selling basketball shoes—the Air Zoom G.T. Jump and the Air Zoom G.T. Cut 2—are turning heads with stunning new colorways.
Both new colorways feature Vivid Sky as the centerpiece accent. The Nike Zoom G.T. Cut 2 also uses a mix of Aura, Sail and Barely Green, while the Nike Zoom G.T. Jump uses Pearl White predominantly. Both court-ready styles will be leaping into action in men’s sizes on March 16.
The G.T. Cut 2 has distinctly tropical vibes, with a chalky Vivid Sky midsole that looks like it hails from the Caribbean. A light blue upper with streaks of white almost resembles a cloudy sky—broken up, of course, by the stark white Swoosh flying across the middle—perhaps like a seagull?
The pale blue tongue features peach Nike “Greater Than” branding, as does the similar-colored insole. At the heel, you’ll see a clip insert that keeps you locked in above the Zoom Air unit. With its strong lines, it is reminiscent of an accordion. The white overlay above has small triangle cutouts and Nike branding in blue. Underfoot, Vivid Sky, Aura and white combine for a trifecta of color on the outsole.
The G.T. Jump has a similar design but is slightly toned down. The leno-weave upper features twisted strands of composite fibers in pale cream. These let the intricate lacing system shine through—blue and white tie-downs that attach to the cream laces on top.
At the top of the toe, you’ll see “001” along with a Nike Swoosh—indicating this is the first shoe in the series. The tongue also features fun branding—a circular blue and cream patch with “Nike” on the right shoe and “Own Space” on the left.
A white heel tab features more embroidered blue branding. This blue pairs well with the Vivid Sky and white midsole. There’s a Swoosh built directly into the Vivid Sky bit on the lateral edge, and on the medial edge, it’s embedded in white. Finally, there’s a gummy Vivid Sky outsole to match.
Both shoe models inject a bit of color into the game—perfect for when you take on your opponents. Crew socks are a must, preferably in white to let the colors shine. Finish the look with black basketball shorts and a white jersey tank.
Go big during your next hardwood matchup when you wear either the Nike Air Zoom G.T. Cut 2 or Nike Air Zoom G.T. Jump “Vivid Sky” colorways. Both are dropping in men’s sizes on March 16, online and at your local Hibbett | City Gear.Miss the release? Remember to follow our sneaker launch calendar, so it doesn’t happen again!
