The Nike Dunk Low Retro “Black/Goldenrod” men’s shoe drops December 16 at Hibbett | City Gear.

When these collegiate-colored kicks hit the market back in ’85 — or the “late 1900s,” as Gen-Z refers to it — they appealed to basketball fans with their university-themed colorways and similarities to the Air Jordan 1. The latest from the Swoosh takes its cues from the University of Iowa Hawkeyes and the ever-popular Wu-Tang Dunk Highs.

With a base color of black, the bright Goldenrod hue gives this shoe its glow-up by outlining the toe, lacing system, heel — and also covering the outsole. The low-slung sneaker also includes a lightly padded yellow sockliner and Goldenrod branding. The nylon tongue tag stands out in yellow, as do the side Swooshes. Perforated holes punctuate the toebox, amplifying the breathability of the sneaker. A white foam midsole completes the package, interrupting the main colors and adding a comfortable foundation.
