April showers not only bring May flowers, but also rainbows. This May, kids of all ages can look forward to warmer weather and a bright new sneaker release from Nike.

Beginning May 2, the Little Posite One gets a “Rainbow Pixel” touch — a new colorway with dazzling iridescent detailing and touches of Smoke Grey, white and Blue Fury. The shoe gets released in kids’ sizes, ranging from infant and toddler to preschool and grade school.

Smoke Grey outsoles bring these carefully sculpted sneakers down to earth, punctuated with herringbone strategic white traction patterns, an oversized black reverse Swoosh and reversed Nike branding. One of the most prominent design features is the presence of the eponymous rainbow pixel pattern, which begins at the Little Posite One’s midfoot plate and creates an underfoot band rife with pastel colors of the rainbow.

The Little Posite One’s signature Foamposite material swaths the upper and the midsole, creating a futuristic effect that also contours to the foot over time for a custom fit. The shimmering, light-catching molded upper ripples with iridescence, while a lacing system trimmed in lighter grey leather gives way to the mesh tongue, light grey laces and mesh sock-like heel liner. White-lined pull tabs at the tongue and heel make for easy slide on, slide off for even the smallest feet. NBA legend Penny Hardaway’s one-cent logo features on the tongue, while a pixelated white Swoosh resides on the sneaker’s heel.

The shoe’s full-length Zoom Air unit lends extra cushioning, while that rainbow-pixel pattern carbon fiber midplate stabilizes both sides of the foot. After Nike’s Eric Avar designed the OG Foamposite line in the ’90s, Penny Hardway helped make this modern-looking shoe a must-have for ballers of all ages.
