To celebrate this year’s Air Max Day, Nike announced the release of an entirely new line of kicks. Talk about a way to honor a line’s 34th birthday! The Nike Air Max Genome refreshes a chunkier silhouette from the early 2000s to create a shoe fit for the future.
While Nike already leaked three launch colorways, that wasn’t enough for Air Max fans. That’s why they’re upping the game with a brand new grey and Mango colorway that’s releasing in men’s sizes on May 1.
When you slip on this new shoe, you’ll be ready to take on even the most worthy opponents. A low-profile, full-length Air unit provides a hearty definition to the midsole that looks great and cushions you with every step. There’s even durable TPU around the heel and toe that adds a little extra support as you roam the sidewalk or hardwood.
Along the upper, you’ll find a mix of perforated leather, synthetic paneling and mesh for a legendary mashup. You’ll look multidimensional thanks to the caged midsection with mesh overlay. A padded, low-cut collar shields your ankle during evasive moves. And naturally, the traditional Swoosh stands out proudly along the shoe’s middle.
Lacing up the shoe is easy, thanks to the traditional lacing system. You’ll be locked in whether you’re going up for a jump shot or heading around town on errands. At the end of the day, after you’ve given it your all, quickly take off the shoe with the heel pull tab.
The coolest part? The Nike Air Max helps you reduce your carbon footprint. It’s made of at least 20% recycled materials by weight. That’s a slam dunk for both you and the environment.
It looks like the Nike Air Max Genome is here to change the iconic line’s DNA — especially with its striking grey and Mango colorway. Starting May 1, snag yours online or at your local Hibbett | City Gear in men’s sizes.
