Nike’s upcoming “Daughters Pack,” which includes the Nike Kyrie 7 “Lilac, Melon Tint, Indigo Burst and Sail” colorway for men and kids’ and the Nike PG 5 “Green Glow, white, Sunset Pulse and black” colorway for men, launches September 17 at Hibbett | City Gear.
Azurie Irving, Natasha and Olivia George may not be names that immediately ring a bell, but these kiddos have pretty famous NBA dads who have immortalized them with the latest sneaker pack from Nike.
The Kyrie 7’s are a lightweight delight. Primarily dressed in the lovely lilac hue, this playful basketball sneaker is accented with impactful hits of coral along the TPU fingers that reinforce the shoe’s sides and along the jagged Zoom Turbo cushioning at the forefoot.
An open-weave purple mesh covers most of the shoe, with a darker floral pattern illustrated underneath. Hand-drawn flowers bloom along the TPU fingers and appear on the heel, perhaps drawn by 6-year-old Azurie Irving herself. Her “Az” logo gets billing on the molded heel, while her dad’s logo appears in soft orange on the tongue, in dark blue on the outsole and along the shoe’s insole. The lateral side of the basketball shoe includes an orange-outlined Swoosh, whereas the medial features a smaller, embroidered one along its more tightly woven material.
Catch a glimpse of the subtle all-seeing-eye logo at the bottom of the lacing system — a feature we’ve come to expect from Irving’s designs. An off-white midsole and outsole give the shoe a serene counterbalance to the upper’s busyness. Light purple paint splatters also embellish the midsole, and the data-driven traction pattern on the outsole allows for precise plays, whether you’re a 6-year-old girl or a 29-year-old NBA star.
Paying homage to Paul George’s two daughters, the men’s Nike PG 5 also gets a softer color profile. A seafoam green outsole with a topographic map-like traction pattern leads up to the pastel-green toebox and laces. A lateral-side, stitched-on Swoosh also appears in green. Lemon-yellow leather overlays on one side and pastel purple bands on the medial help lock the foot down during gameplay.
The pink sides of the men’s Nike shoe have the same tightly woven mesh as the toebox, accented by purple and yellow embroidery. A rainbow of colors plays out along the plushly padded ankle collar, and the purple tongue gives way to breathable pink padding at the throat.
The Paul George basketball shoe relies on its white midsole for generous flexibility and lighter-than-air comfort, thanks to the full-length Air Dot Weld Strobel cushioning. Paul George branding lands in black on the insole and at the bottom of the lacing system, while a small black Swoosh highlights the medial side of the toe.
Whether you’re a kid, a dad — or just a player who appreciates the love of a parent — slip on a pair of Nike “Daughters” pack grade school kids’ or men’s Nike Kyrie 7s or the men’s Nike PG 5s in Lilac, Melon Tint, Indigo Burst and Sail or Green Glow, white, Sunset Pulse and black starting September 17.
